Breeders List Help:
The Breeders List presented on this web site is taken from the Membership portion of the NASSA Registry Database. See the page footer below for the date that the information was copied from the Registry. Note that only current NASSA members are shown in the Breeders List (using a 3 month grace period after membership expiration.)
Find Shetland Sheep Breeders in Your Area:
To find Shetland Breeders in your area, go to the Quick Search page, select a State or Province, and click the Go button to the right of the State pulldown. Standard two-letter abbreviations are used for the State and Province names. To find breeders outside of the US and Canada, select the blank option (just below the 'All' selection) in the pulldown list.
Complex Breeder Searches
You can also use the Quick Search page to find Breeders by their last name or NASSA flock number. To search the Breeders List using more complex criteria, use the Advanced Search page. You can specify a number of search criteria, but note that the search results will include only those Breeders that match all of the criteria you provide.
Breeders List Search Results
After you run a search using either the Quick Search or Advanced Search forms, you will see the Breeders List page showing the breeders matching your search criteria (unless only one breeder was found, in which case you will see the Breeder Info page for that breeder instead.) You can use the Next/Previous controls to page through the search results if there are more than fit on one page. You can click a column heading in the search results table to re-sort the search results based on that column (for example, click the 'Last Name' column heading to sort the results alphabetically by breeders' last names.) The blue arrow indicates the current sort order. Click the column heading with the blue arrow to sort in the opposite direction.
Customizing Search Results
You can customize your search results by clicking the 'Customize Search Results Format' link below the page header at the left. This will show you a form where you can select which fields you want to see in your search results and how many rows you want to see on a page. If you select all of the available fields, your page will be very wide and you will need to scroll left and right to see everything. It is usually best to select the fields that are most interesting, or that you want to sort on. Then you can click the 'Info' buttons in the search results (the little blue button with an 'i' beside the flock number in the search results table) to go to the Breeder Info page. All of the available info for each breeder is shown on their Info page.
